Galleries

Galleries

Galleries, included on all mobile & website plans that have General Views activated, allows you to create gallery items & categories in order to enrich your mobile apps & websites with photo & video galleries, group them together in categories and assign them to menus.

What is the process?

To begin with, photo and video galleries can be created at Manage Galleries. Next, you can visit Galleries, assign your photo or video galleries to a gallery item and then your Gallery Items to Gallery Categories. This process is needed in case you want to assign a Gallery Category to your mobile app or website menu

Categories

In case you want to categorise gallery items into groups and then assign them to menus you need to create categories. Note that there is no limit to the depth of category levels; therefore you can create as many categories or subcategories as you want and assign as many items as you want into each one.

In the Categories tab, an overview of all gallery categories is available. You can easily publish or unpublish them, rearrange their order using "drag & drop", copy, delete, edit or create new ones.

Once within a gallery category, you can edit its name and alias (make sure each one is unique), publish or unpublish it, assign it to others or set it as root (parent category). Moreover, you can define its metadata tags; title, description, keywords & robots. Setting different metadata tags for different languages, in case you have activated more than one in your plan, is also available.

Lastly, you can set a teaser image, up to 8 MB, for each category and set its dimensions. We recommend against setting pictures with big dimensions as teasers since the loading speed of your website & mobile apps might be affected. What is more, the predefined teaser images dimensions cannot be surpassed no matter how big is the image you upload.

Items

Once categories are created you can assign gallery items to them.

In the Items tab, an overview of all gallery items is available. You can easily publish or unpublish them,  rearrange their order in mobile apps & websites using the Order Priority column, copy, delete, edit or create new ones.

Each gallery item has its own title, alias (make sure each one is unique), short description and teaser image and can be assigned to one or multiple gallery categories. Moreover, you can define its metadata tags; title, description, keywords & robots. Notice that in case you have activated more than one languages to your plan, metadata tags, title & short description can be different.

Last but not least, you need to select a single media gallery for each gallery item, created in Manage Galleries.

You may now visit Menu (Website or Mobile) in order to assign gallery items or categories directly to menus.
